Resources:

We have an entire room full of supplies to use at the Red Riot. We have arts and crafts, a photo booth, nerf guns, corn hole, so much stuff. We also can order anything from Amazon that we need.

Risk Assessment

My project will be a low level of risk, because we really don’t do anything outside of basic activities. We are limited by the University’s risk management team, and they are very cautious because we deal with minors.

Pre-Project Reflection

I am very excited for my project. There are a lot of unknowns right now, like themes, and who will attend, and what specific jobs I will have. But I’ve been involved in this organization long enough to know that Red Riots are always a booming success. It takes all hands on deck, but I know I have a stellar committee that will work hard.

The planning and preparing is the most work, it takes weeks of preparation. But the day of the event is just fun, the stress is over, and we can see our labors carry out. We call Red Riots “game day” in our organization because it’s all we’ve worked for in action.

These events are huge for the university. Huge for recruiting purposes. To help put it in perspective, we think about it monetarily. An average SUU student amounts to about $30,000 dollars. That’s an estimated total of all 4 years here. So when we treat each student like a $30,000 contribution it helps us to realize the magnitude of the events.

We just cross our fingers and hope we have a lot of students sign up and attend, and that we don’t have any major problems. But I have full faith in the committee and the whole ambassador team that they can carry out and adapt to any situation. We just hope to help these students have a great experience on our campus and realize why SUU is so great!
